去年の夏、ジーンズのLevi's社からCurve IDという名でジーンズが発売されたのはご存知ですか?

"　ウエストにサイズを合わせるとヒップがゆるくシワができてしまう　"

"　ヒップに合わせるとウエストや太もも部分があまってしまう　"

などの悩みはウエスト～ヒップにかけてのカーブを無視した平面的なパターンに問題があったから

そこに着目し、世界中の女性6万人の体型を研究した結果、

ウエスト～ヒップのカーブは大きく分けて3つに分類されることが判明・・・

このニュースを見たとき、

Melodiaを含むアメリカ人デザイナーのパンツを思い浮かべました。

欧米人に比べ日本では腰骨が張っていない華奢な腰周りを持つ女性が多いと思います。

"太ももサイズに合わせるとウエスト部分に隙間があいてしまう"

という悩みをお持ちのメロディアパンツのファンの方も多いのでは・・・

そこでMelodiaに相談し、日本人ダンサー用に新たな型(パターン)を製作するに至りました。

ウエストを若干細めに、ウエストからヒップにかけてなめらかなカーブを描いています

ジーンズと違い、伸縮性がとてもあるダンス用パンツなので

幅広いサイズに対応することは間違いないです

ただ、ほんの少しの差でフィット性が違ってくるのも事実

待った甲斐がありました♥

東日本大震災をうけまして

被災地では現在も燃料、食料不足が解消されず

苦しい状態が続いていると聞きます

完全に立ち直るためには長い年月がかかるとも言われ

多方面からの継続的な支援が必要不可欠です

皆さまの善意とお力を集め収益金の全額を日本赤十字社へ寄付いたします

－彼女が手がけるファッションはデザインが素敵なだけではなく、オーガニックコットンを中心に染色方法までこだわった人にも環境にも優しいもの。

目指すところが同じBANU ROSAと 共感しあい取り扱いを開始しました。

SHINO: We are so excited to carry your fabulous pieces at Banu Rosa. 

Can you tell us a little about you and your label?
LINDA: I have been making things for as long as i can remember - since I was very young I have had a love and fascination for textiles.  I learned to knit when i was 9 or 10 and since then I have experimented with all kinds of materials.  My current project called eleven44 is focused on sustainability in life and the use of organic cotton.  But its not only that - my whole approach to life and business is about applying the principles of sustainability, thoughtful and intelligent design, community, integrity and beauty.

SHINO: What is the first piece you ever designed?
LINDA: I first started designing clothing commercially making re-constructed garments.  I would take clothing that was discarded and take them apart to put them back together in a more pleasing way to breathe new life into what was otherwise considered unusable and unwanted.  I particularly loved to work with woolens and made new sweaters and hoodys out of old ones, piecing together different colors and textures to make cozy pieces with lots of charm and character.  At the time I was living in the cool temperate climate of BC.  Now I live in tropical Bali and the focus is more about summer clothing ;)

SHINO: What matters to you most as a fashion designer?
LINDA: The textile industry is one of the biggest use of resources in the world, and contributing to that kind of heavy environmental impact is a big responsibility.  I hope to create awareness through my work of our ability as consumers to make positive choices with our spending in order to effect global change.  I also place great value on contributing beauty to life, and as a very practical person I like to make beautiful clothing for every day wear with comfort and movement in mind.
SHINO:  The very first time I put on your designs, I was amazed how comfortable they felt. Women do not have to sacrifice style to be green. Your clothes are beautiful and that are also organic and sustainable.
LINDA: I agree!  It's no longer about baggy hemp clothing in muted colors. 

SHINO: What are your favorite fabrics to work with and why?
LINDA:  I love organic cotton, tencel, silk and all types of eco fibers.  I especially love to work with knit fabrics that contain lycra - for all the same reasons as above!

SHINO: Where do you get your inspiration?
LINDA: Nature, art, music, my friends, traveling, the past, the future.....

SHINO: Do you listen to music while working, and what band/albums really get the creative process going?
LINDA: Yes, definitely!  I listen to music all the time, from the moment I wake up until I go to sleep.  I listen to all kinds of music from rock, to pop, all types of electronic, but my favorite is hip hop.

SHINO: What is your favorite piece from your designs?
LINDA: My favorite piece right now is the gridlock leggings.  I love working with patterns and screen printing and I wear my leggings often.... Recently I have added the gridlock yoga shorts to the collection and there is a new yoga bra top made from the same fabric coming very soon.   I also love the priestess hoody again because of the prints, also it has a custom brass zipper that I designed that feels like jewelry.

SHINO: What do you do when you're not working? What is a typical day like for you?
LINDA: When I am not working I love to spend time with my friends - they are my family.

SHINO: Please give a message to Japanese belly dancers.
LINDA: I really hope that you love my designs!  If you have any ideas or styles that you would love to see from me I am open to suggestions - I love to hear from people who are wearing my clothes so feel free to make comments and let me know if there is something that you would like me to add to the collection.  Much love from Bali!
